Reflections…

October 6, 2008 · 1 Comment

Good morning,

I realize I have not put much on the blog lately. I have been traveling.
Some of it for pleasure. We just had a national holiday in which many
Chinese travel. Their goal is to have four generations at the same dinner
table together. It is a little like the US Thanksgiving in its customs
although the holiday is kind of a national celebration day like Labor Day.

What was most striking about the holiday is that people who have just
experience some very severe tragedies in their lives still got together
the celebrate. Maybe the celebration meant even more because of their
recent confrontation with death.

Humans are an interesting species. Not only here, but in the war torn
countries I have worked in, I remember being amazed at how people can
continue to smile and love each other even, or maybe more so, during such
difficult times. The children also continue to play in the stress, giggle,
tease each other and laugh even though they have lost siblings or parents.

Human resiliency is quite astounding. It continues to remind me that we
are no strangers to trauma as a species. Most of us have experienced many
traumas in our lives, from minor car accidents to natural disasters and
yet we learn from the experiences and continue on in life.

I am about to do four 15 hour days because of the travel and workshops in
remote places. We will be working with teenagers today and then teachers
for the next 3 days. This means I will probably not have the time or the
energy to submit another entry to the blog until this week-end. I will
however try to provide you with some pictures of the next few days.

Love to all,
Dave

    David:

“the journey of a thousand miles begins with the first step”

….as you travel in China and bring the story of the journey to us with your blog I can say peacefully that….in my centeredness and understanding of the Chinese….that…their culture is ready for the peacful warriorship you carry with you in the character and makeup of who you are and what you teach.

That you are showing them your methods gives them as a people, the hope and understanding that….not all in the Western Cultural Sense is something of wastefull consumer-isim but something greater…..That we people of the “West” can have the understanding and discipline needed to help those who are so terribly wounded to heal.

I have felt that after my session with you in Vancouver with your Trauma Release Exercises and the sound of peace from your voice that…..the peace that I pray for in this mad mad world of today is further resonated with your journey into the hearts and minds and the wellness of the ordinary…..those chinese families who have been deeply touched by disasters and troubles.

The wisdom, warmth and culture of the Chinese in asking you to join with them in finding one of many paths to healing brings you to their country. To the front door of their healing on the “water buffalo of confuscious” and “lau tzu”.

In that…… their resonation with your peace and insights of the body allows me to offer my point of view from my humble thoughts.

On your journey of wellness and message of healing for the body…along with the peace of who you are as a human being in full warriorship of your humanity……I say from my heart….I pray continuiously for the grace and fabric of your intellect and physical well being.

May it be as one in the partnership of the excellent mind of our creator. May it be and bring a becon of hope to those who are in dispair over the loss of their loved ones….in family and community………. I remain….
    Peacefully mindful of your journey….

    travel well….maintain your faith….and your health……
….wash your feet often as the dust of China and it’s ancient and modern people touches the soul of the shoes you walk in.

Consider the wounded warriors of the chinese peoples emergency services. Those who were involved with the recovery and wounded by the death of so many of thier countrymen and women….and the children and infants.

Yours is a ;journey from our family here in the West to the family members of China… in the East. May the two families continue to meet on the road of peace and enlightenment.

God’s Peace and Blessings in your work….

    In esteem I remain…..
